Telstra Directory Assistance on 1223
Telstra Directory Assistance on 1223 is an automated service that provides you with a telephone number when you know the name of the person or business that you are looking for. An optional call connection service is available to eligible Telstra fixed line callers, post-paid mobile callers and pre-paid mobile callers.
When you call Telstra Directory Assistance 1223, your call will be answered by an automated speech recognition service which will ask for the name of the person or business you’re looking for. If your request cannot be recognised, an operator will help you find the number you need.
Calls to Telstra Directory Assistance on 1223 are free of charge from Telstra residential fixed line phones and from Telstra payphones.
Telstra business fixed line customers and Telstra mobile customers are charged a flat fee of $0.50 for calls to 1223.
An attempted connection charge of $0.88 applies to eligible Telstra post-paid mobile, pre-paid mobile and fixed line customers that choose to be through connected to a requested number*. If, on attempted connection, the requested number is busy or does not answer, you will be charged the connection fee of $0.88. If you are a mobile caller an SMS will be sent to your mobile when you request the number. If you are a fixed line caller and the number you requested to be connected to is busy or does not answer, you will hear the requested number announced via a computerised voice announcement.
For successful connections, Telstra call charges will also apply for the connected call. If you are a Telstra fixed line customer who has preselected with another carrier for long distance calls, any calls connected will be charged at Telstra standard call charges as per the HomeLine Part plan.
These charges apply to Telstra customers. If you’re billed by someone other than Telstra, you may be charged differently, so please contact them for more information.
