Sensis is Australia's leading information resource
  • A prolific provider of information for Australians:
    • Over 365 print publications covering telephone and street directories, maps, atlases, and classifieds publications;
    • Eleven websites;
    • Seven mobile information services;
    • Three telephone services; and
    • One satellite navigation service.


Australians are turning to Sensis in record numbers
  • Australians turn to Sensis over 4.5 million times a day.1
  • More than 12 million Australians use a Sensis® service every month.2
  • Over 98 per cent of Australian metropolitan households receive the Y ellow™ and White Pages® print directories each year. 3
  • 10 million unique Sensis® print directory uses every month.4
  • More Australians use Sensis® print directories than every major online search engine, directory or classified service put together!5
  • Exceptional 21% growth in online usage in 2005/2006 – more than 7.7 million unique browsers per month across all sites.6
  • Over 12 million calls made per month to Sensis® voice services. Around 1 million of these are calls to 1234, with 85% of these being connected through to a business.7
  • Rapidly growing user base attracted by Sensis® mobile applications, including seven applications available on internet-enabled mobile phones: Yellow™ Mobile, Trading Post® Mobile, Whereis® Mobile, Whereis® Navigator, Citysearch® Mobile, Sensis® mobile, sensis® SMS - now available on Telstra’s Next G™ network.

Sensis and our customers
  • Sensis provides advertising, commercial search, information management, mapping and IT solutions to approximately 600,000 Australian businesses. Around 150,000 of them are online customers.
  • Sensis connects Australian businesses with buyers who are ready to buy. More than 90% of buyers using Yellow™ go on to contact a supplier, and more than 70% of them go on to make a purchase.8
  • Sensis is achieving high customer satisfaction results of 8/10 for all Yellow™ sales channels.

Sensis and our people
  • Sensis employs approximately 3,500 people in locations all over Australia;
  • Sensis consistently exceeds Australian benchmarks in ISR Employee Opinion Surveys; and
  • Sensis was a recipient of the 2005 AHRI (Australian Human Resource Institute) Award for Excellence in People Management.

Sensis and our industry
  • In the 2005 calendar year, Sensis held a 14 per cent share of Australian main media advertising revenue and more than 20% of the online advertising market.9
  • Latest data compiled by Frost & Sullivan shows Sensis has a 98% share of the online directories market.10

Sensis and the environment
  • Sensis won the Victorian Premier’s Sustainability Award for large business in 2007.
  • In 2007 the level of directory recycling nationally rose to 75% with another 21% being reused.
  • Sensis was a finalist in the 2005 United Nations World Environment Day Awards ‘Best Environmental Initiative' category for the Sensis Directory Recycling Program.

Sensis and the global directories industry
  • Despite Australia's relatively small population, Sensis is the 9th largest directories business in the world (by revenue);11
  • At US$48.51 revenue per capita, Australia is the fifth highest performing Yellow Pages market in the world. This is an increase of $10.65 per capita on May 2003;12 and
  • Sensis operates the third highest performing Yellow Pages market as a percentage of GDP. The Yellow Pages represents 0.16% of Australia's GDP.13

Financial performance
Sensis has proven that it can deliver sustainable financial growth:
  • On track to deliver a fifth year of strong growth;
  • $1.862 billion revenue in the 2006 financial year;
  • 6.9% revenue growth following 9% growth in 2006 year on year in the second half of the financial year;
  • Underlying EBIT growth of 10.2%; and
  • Reported EBIT growth of 7.7%.
