2010/11 Yellow Pages® and White Pages® Directory Covers Program
Sensis is calling for nominations of Courageous Australians from the local community to feature on the cover of next year’s Yellow Pages® and White Pages® directory.
As part of our annual program, Sensis features local people on the cover on its Yellow Pages® and White Pages® directories in regional markets and on White Pages® directories in metropolitan markets, who are making outstanding contributions to their local community.
Under the theme of Courageous Australians, Sensis is searching for local people from your community who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to overcome adversity and to enhance the lives of people in their community.
These are courageous and self-less individuals who have a real passion for giving back to their local communities.
How to nominate
In 200 words or less, describe how the nominee has made a positive impact in your community according to the theme criteria (see below).
Be sure to include your contact details (full name, phone number, email address and postal addresses) and those of your nominee.

Courageous Australians – theme criteria
Nominations must abide by the following criteria:
- The nominated subject/s has demonstrated courageousness during a situation where he/she/they are seen to have overcome significant adversity.
- The nominated subject/s must be highly regarded by their peers and their selection likely to generate a positive reaction from their community.
- The nominated subject/s must have contributed to their local community or region in one or more of the following ways:
- Helped build better community relationships
- Helped others in times of need
- Showed strong leadership in their community
- Inspired others to be courageous
- Had a significant involvement within their local community or region
- Protected community assets during their courageous act(s) – eg people, property, animals, environment etc.
- The nominated cover subject/s may run a business or be employed by a local organisation but their act(s) of courageousness must be deemed to have involved personal sacrifice and be considered to have gone above and beyond reasonable expectations of supporting/protecting the local community.
- The nominated subject/s must currently live, work or operate in the directory region and have a strong association or history with the region.
Photo requirements: The nominated subject/s must agree to be available for a photo at a date, time and location determined by Sensis, its agency The PR Edge and photographer Big Studio. Where possible, the subject/s will be photographed individually.
Media requirements: The nominated subject/s must be willing and available at the required time to take part in media opportunities.
Selection process
Sensis will consider all eligible nominations and select the person/people who best fit the theme criteria, to appear on the cover of the relevant 2010/11 Yellow Pages® and White Pages® directory. Decisions made by Sensis are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Privacy
Details collected in the nomination process will be used for the purposes of helping to select the person/people to appear on the cover of the relevant 2010/11 Yellow Pages® and White Pages® directory. Nominations that do not progress to the final round of selection will be destroyed.
The details of the person/people selected to appear on the cover of the relevant 2010/11 Yellow Pages® and White Pages® directory will be used in accordance with Sensis’ Privacy Policy.
